Police Report: Operation Zenith is ongoing

Community Councillors raised the following issues

  • Cyclists riding two or three abreast on the B9002, causing concern to local motorists
  • Speeding traffic through Kennethmont

Matters Arising:

  • Fence around the Play area at Clatt Hall has not been repaired
  • Broom at the Smithston /Kennethmont junction has not been cut back
  • Fly Tipping at the Suie Hill car park: Secretary contacted Aberdeenshire Council after the meeting and they have agreed to uplift the litter.
  • Rhynie Cemetery Wall A bid has been made to the Capital budget for monies to carry out repairs

Clatt: Query regarding hackney licence being withdrawn if cars are scratched -Councillor Latham to enquire

Gartly: Nothing to report

Kennethmont: A new bench has been purchased using funding from Cairnmore Wind farm fund and will be placed near the bus stop. David Grant is in communication with Aberdeenshire Council to have the bench installed

Aberdeenshire Council are in negotiations with residents at Jubilee Cottages regarding purchase of land to form a footpath  

20mph Flashing light at the village is faded.

Playing field: The state of the playing field was discussed unfortunately all villages are experiencing the same problem

Rhynie:

Rail missing at the Bogie Bridge opposite the old Council Depot

Potholes outside Fourteen the Square

Crumbling road surface Sims Road West

AOCB:

Suggestions:

 As 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of World War 1 the Community Council could approach local residents who had relatives serving in WW1 and ask them to if they would like to lay the wreath at the Armistice Day service.

100th Anniversary of the First World War Bruges/ Ypres – The Community Council could also sponsor a young person from each parish to visit the battlefields and museums. To be discussed at the next meeting

Garden Competition: Members were reminded to encourage people to enter this year’s competition
