Minutes of meeting held at
Clatt Hall
Monday 9th December 2013

In Attendance: Councillor Joanna Strathdee, Councillor John Latham & Sergeant Neil Binning

Minutes of Previous Meeting:
Approved by George McIntosh
Seconded by James Matthew

Matters Arising:
· Potholes at Candy Corner  - Still to be filled
· Water on the road at Jeldah - Roads inspector has taken photos
· Drains at Cottown and West Lodge - Drains have now been cleared
· Water on the footpath at 12A Main Street Rhynie This will be fixed by the roads department

Police Report:
· No incidents of note.
· As you are probably aware PS Binning retires after 30 years service at the end of this month. His replacement has been announced and is existing Sergeant, PS Andy Sawers who was previously a Constable at Huntly and for the last 2 years a supervisor at Inverurie. Andy has a background in crime reduction and I'm sure will be an asset to the area.
· Speed analysis was carried out in Rhynie for a week between 1 - 8 November. It was not possible to upload the data received from the equipment at the south end of the village so the data is purely from the equipment on Main Street opposite Richmond Avenue (although it recorded vehicles travelling in both directions).
· The average speed of all vehicles through the village between these dates was 36mph, which is obviously slightly in excess of the speed limit, but I suspect maybe not as high as some people perceive. I anticipate once the flashing speed limit signs are operational this figure will reduce. In the meantime attention will be given by local officers.
