Minutes of Previous Meeting:

Matters Arising:

  • Park Lane Gartly Temporary resurfacing to be carried out with a view to total resurfacing during 2014
  • Fencing near monitoring station at Gartly and cement left at Westseat road end has been reported to Network rail and the local Community Relations team will investigate
  • Barrier near Slate Bridge has also been reported and is also to be investigated by the above team
  • All potholes reported are to be filled in due course

 

Police Report:

  • During the last week a pay & display machine at Leith Hall was broken into and a quantity of money stolen.
  • There have been no other significant crimes or incidents in the area during the last 6 weeks.
  • A daytime HB did occur in the Rothiemay area during March where travelling criminals are suspected. The public are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicions – criminals are not always lucky enough to find unoccupied houses and may come up with a spurious excuse if they find someone in.
  • Attention has been given to the parking issues on Bogie Road, Rhynie but no offences were detected.

Clatt: Road surface between Clatt Village Hall and Cushnie turn off is broken up and potholed

Gartly: Drain at Culdrain requires clearing again

Water from A97 is draining on to arable ground at Culdrain

Kennethmont: Water from the B9002 is also being drained on to farmland.

Rhynie: Community Hall: Corcern was raised about the state of the hall and the future plans for a community hall. Councillor Latham suggested that local representatives could arrange a meeting with Les Allan and Mike Powell of Marr Area Partnership to discuss the concerns.

 

Public Question Time:

AOCB:

  • School Bus: Councillor Latham informed us that there is no law against yellow painted school buses being used for service out with the school transport runs but suggested we write to MSP Dennis Robertson outlining our concerns.
  • After discussion it was decided to place an advert in Noth News detailing how to access the agenda and minutes and with the names of all the community councillors. Advert will be after the elections and will have an up to date list of representatives
  • The forthcoming elections were discussed and if required will to be held around the end at the beginning of May

  • It was decided to invite Alasdair McCallum Chairman of Friends Of Insch Hospital to come along to the next meeting to give us an update on their plans for the new Insch hospital
