THE MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL (POLTON ROAD WEST, BONNYRIGG) (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2022

The Midlothian Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf hereby make the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “The Midlothian Council (Polton Road West, Bonnyrigg) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2022” and shall come into operation on 5 September 2022. The Order is expected to be in place for approximately 2 weeks.
This Order is being made to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works. Save as provided in Article 3 of this Order Polton Road West will be closed to through traffic in two phases from its junction with Cameron Crescent to its junction with A6094.
Nothing in Article 2 of this Order shall prevent any person from driving or causing or permitting any vehicle to be driven on the part of the roads specified in this Order (a) if the vehicle is in actual use in connection with the works there or (b) is being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance services in connection with an emergency.
The alternative route for general traffic is via A6094, Rosewell Road and Polton Avenue Road.
