New Community Council
22 June 2013

The new community council elected in 2013 runs for a period of three years until 2016.  Councillors can stand down at the end of each year but the commitment is usually for the full 3 years.  The meetings are once a month on the 2nd Wednesday in the meeting room of the community centre.

The council now has seven members.  Councillors Andrew Bramhall, Maureen Buchan, John Cavaroli, Michael Clayton, Alister Paul, Stephen Thomson and Dougie Waterson.  Contact information can be found on the Members page.

All nominations this year have previously been members of the community council.  This ensures a good knowledge base of local initiatives and ongoing projects and problems.

The community council can co-opt members if the membership is below the permitted 12 for Tweedbank.  A co-opted councillor would not be able to vote but has every other right as a councillor.

There are places available at the present time - so come along and see what happens- you may even enjoy it!

At the time of writing - the date of the next community council is still to be confirmed.
