speed cushion positions
09 January 2012

updated 14th Feb 2012 - see bottom of article.

There is a proposal to install speed cushions on Tweedbank Drive to slow  traffic down.  Traffic is perceived to come off the Abbotsford Roundabout too fast.

Signage  for the railway station, when it returns to  Tweedbank, will direct traffic along the bypass to enter Tweedbank at the Industrial Estate end.  It takes less time to reach the proposed site of the railway station by driving along the bypass.

The proposal includes a Pelican crossing at the pedestrian entrance to the Railway station. The exact site of this is not yet finalised.

How essential do you think speed cushions are?

Please give feedback with your thoughts either for or against to any community councillor or to Councillor Parker - contact details available on the members page.

Details of the last speed/traffic surveyand the options on traffic calming can be found in "view all stories" in the  NEWS- speed cushions page of this web site.

The link below shows a map of  one option for the proposed sites of the 3 speed cushions.

Updated 14th Feb 2012

*The position of the speed cushions is not yet  finalised.  The above link is one option and the positions given in  Councillor Parker's newsletter is another.  If there is support from the community for speed cushions a final position will be determined. Your opinion matters! A public meeting is being held in the meeting room of the community centre on Tuesday the 21st FEb 2012 between 6 and 9pm.  The plans for the new position of the railway platform will be on show and questions on this and traffic calming will be addressed.*
