Accessibility Statement
We strive to ensure that our services are accessible to all of our residents, including people with disabilities. We have invested significant resources to help ensure that our website is easy to use, and accessible, for people with limited motor skills and those with visual impairments. Our web site should not have any areas which are inaccessible to people with disabilities.
The website is built on the Spanglefish content management system. It allows normal browser control by using the Control or Command Keys, and plus and minus keys, and can be navigated using the tab and enter keys. The site has been created using HTML5 and should be fully accessible using screen readers.
Whilst we have done our best to ensure accessibility, every website content management website can be improved. If you wish to make any accessibility suggestions about the underlying site structure, then please contact access@spanglefish.com
However, the use of images, uploaded documents, background and text colours, video and audio etc, are the responsibility of the site owner, and therefore any issues regarding accessibility with these items should be addressed to: theclerk@goytre.gov.uk
Goetre Fawr Community Council is a sight loss friendly organisation. As a result, we have also done our best to ensure that the site has good levels of contrast between text and background colours.
In addition, where possible, large font copies of the most recent documents are provided. Where this has not been possible you may find it useful to use Word Narrator. You can open this by using the command ‘Ctrl/Windows button/Enter’
Once Narrator has been opened, move your cursor to the area of text you wish to read. Then press Caps Lock + R and Narrator will start reading the text on the page to you. You can stop Narrator from speaking by pressing the Ctrl key.
Alternatively, you may wish to use the ‘Speak’ function (this can be added to your tool bar if it is not already shown). Unlike Narrator, Speak will only read out the actual text of the document. Simply highlight the text that you wish to read and click on the Speak icon. Click on the icon again to stop it.
Content that may not be accessible.
Unfortunately some older documents were produced in pdf format which often does not work well with either Narrator or the Speak function. It is not time or cost-effective for us to remedy these, but we will do our best to provide them in a suitable format for you if you need to refer to them.
In addition, some images do not have a text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. However, the only images are pictures of the individual Councillors and the ‘Header’ Image of the local area.
However, we are committed to ensuring the best possible access for all of our residents, so, if you experience any difficulty with these or any other documents, then please contact the Clerk at http://theclerk@goytre.gov.uk and we will do our best to provide a suitable alternative where this is possible.
Here For You
If you are experiencing difficulty with the content or navigation on the website, please contact us during normal business hours on the email above and we will do our best to assist to ensure you have access to the information that you require.

Continuous Improvement.
