North West Glasgow Community Alcohol Campaign
We invite you to the launch of the NW Community Alcohol Campaign and for your support in making this a success.
The campaign will help local licensees identify underage alcohol purchase and be part of the response to the procurement of alcohol by ‘agent’s’ (those who purchase alcohol on behalf of under 18’s) with a view to reducing alcohol use and alcohol related anti-social behaviour among young people. To start off the campaign we will focus activities around areas linking Burnham road and Balmoral Street.
The alcohol campaign aims to: -
Support local off-sales to comply with the law and feel confident to refuse inappropriate sales
Reduce the accessibility of alcohol by under 18’s through the promotion of responsible sales practice within off-sales and the targeting of ‘agents’ who purchase alcohol on behalf of under 18’s
Decrease alcohol related anti-social behaviour
Increase awareness and use of local activities for young people
Improve community perception of alcohol related issues in the NW.
