A delegation  of Councillors and representatives of protestors visited two MBT waste processing plants run by Shanks in east London last Thursday 22/11/07. Members were impressed with the automated technology they saw which recycled domestic waste from several east London Boroughs. A planning application for a similar plant has been submitted by the Company to be located on the old Rechem site. The application is due to be determined in the new Year by the Full Council.Concerns about the need for such a plant have been voiced locally.
