Warning - Scam

Dear Watch Member,

There has been a report of a scam in operation in the Cwmbran area whereby a resident receives a brand new mobile phone and contract in a parcel addressed in their name.

It is delivered by a GENUINE courier, however after delivery residents receive a phone call from someone with a 'foreign' accent pretending to be from the company, stating that it has been delivered to the wrong address and they will come and collect the mobile.

The person contacting residents have fraudulently taken out a mobile phone contract in the residents name.

Please report any incidences to 101 (non-emergency) or 999 (emergency).
