Proposed Cut in the Number of Torfaen Councillors
15 June 2012

The Local government Boundary Commission for Wales is consulting on their proposals for changing the size of Torfaen Council. They are proposing to reduce the number of Councillors from 44 to 30, the second highest proposed reduction in Wales. Last year the Commission consulted on changes to electoral boundaries within Torfaen with an average ratio of one councillor per 1750 electors but now are proposing to increase this number.
