At a recent meeting of the New Inn Labour Party, its Chairman thanked the Labour candidates who stood in the recent Community Council & Borough Council Elections for all their hard work & effort and thanked the people of New Inn for their support at the ballot box. It was a great disappontment that the Party did not return any candidates to either council and he thanked the Community Councillors who lost their seats for all their work over the years they had held office.

Local Party members expressed the view that although we had suffered a second defeat in local elections since 2008, they were determined to work for the interests of the whole community. This would include  taking up local issues with the appropriate Council and helping residents with their problems.

Members took the view that although the present Conservative Councillors had been good at creating the impression of active involvement in the community through their newsletters, infact little of substance has been done to improve the local infra-structure, facilties, provision for young people and drug dealing.
