Cllr. Bill King, a councillor for the Fairwater ward was installed as the mayor of Torfaen for the year 2007-08 at the Annual Council held at the Civic centre on Thursday evening 17th May. The new Deputy Mayor  is to be Cllr. Nye James of Pontnewydd , Cwmbran.
