The Scottish Government Reporter has refused planning permission for the Battery Storage Development on Fairways Golf Course in a decision dated 13 November 2024. You can read this here.
We on the Community Council are relieved that this Green Space so heavily used by members of our community has been protected. It is also encouraging that what has been agreed and widely consulted on in the local development plan (Inverness and Moray Firth Local Development Plan 2) has been respected both by Highland Council and the Reporter.

Concerns over the installation of this facility can be raised with the Scottish Government Reporter via the Scottish Government website
The four Community Councils representing Slackbuie, Inshes & Milton of Leys, Lochardil & Drummond and Holm have issued a joint statement on the proposed battery storage development. This can be viewed here.
A proposal for an energy storage facility on the land south of Fairways golf centre has come to our attention. The proposal by Logan PM wish to consult interested parties regarding the project and associated consultations through a public event to present the project, seek feedback and answer queries. A project website is also to be established giving information on the project.
The facility would comprise a compound of electrical equipment, store and meter buildings and access track. Landscaping and new planting of native trees is proposed around the development. They have intimated that this is a consultation and engagement rather than an application for consent.
They are also holding an additional, online virtual event for this project, to be held on 20th October 2022, 3pm to 7pm at the project website which is to be established (not yet live) at https://meetings.ili-energy.com/fairways-energy-storage.../
