Oban Bay Proposals CHORD

I’m not sure how much you will know of the Oban CHORD work that is now underway – background information can be found here

AECOM are now underway with the Oban Bay / Harbour CHORD project and consultations with key stakeholders have already begun.  They are also planning a drop in public event for Wednesday 7th September between 11a.m. and 7p.m.  ( see press release here)

The drop in will take place (hopefully-weather permitting) outdoors at Station Square beside the clock tower with a gazebo for shelter. At Station Square members of the project team will be on hand to take comments about the project and we’ll have maps and plans to help discussions.

Throughout the day, 3 ‘walkabout’ tours are to take place with interested folks requested to register for the walkabout.  These will happen at 12 noon, 2.30 p.m. and 5.30p.m. and will consist of a walk around the bay and town centre area lasting one hour allowing participants to comment on problem areas around the town centre relating to the CHORD elements of traffic management, transport interchange and the bay area or relating to the wider aspirations of the Oban Action Plan.  The tour will be followed by a 30 minute question and answer session to be held indoors.  The venue for this Q&A session is most likely to be the CalMac terminal building.  The registration for the walkabout can be done online at  here, or by telephoning 01546 604255.

If the weather is against us and outdoors is not possible, we will have the option of hosting the whole event at the CalMac terminal.
