Bonawe Road : Out of Hours Working
03/09/11
Iain,
As per our conversation the road closure and consequent material deliveries from Bonawe will begin on Sunday 4th and our part of the works, for the first phase at Connel, should take no longer than 4 nights i.e. completed by Wednesday night Thursday morning. We anticipate delivering about 200 tonnes per night (10 loads) with the first due to be on site at 9.30pm, our extension permits trucks leaving the quarry up to 1.00amm but I am hopeful that we will be finished earlier.
The next section at Loch Awe is still due to start 18th September and will run for about a week and half.
We will do as much as we can to limit disturbance and would be grateful for any comments and suggestions from the community.

Good morning Colin. Thank you for your email request to allow an exception to the normal working hours at Bonawe, as set out below, to serve the trunk road re-surfacing works at Loch Awe village and east of Connel.
I have not received any negative comments in terms of the request and I consider wherever possible, these projects are best served by the nearest quarry to avoid unnecessary road miles and shorten the overall disturbance to the wider community. On that basis, I am happy to confirm that the proposed working hours for the dates listed below, are hereby approved.
I wish you well with the project and hope that it runs smoothly to the benefit of all road users. In the event that we receive complaints, I will advise you accordingly and such complaint would need to be considered against any future requests for extended working hours.
Kind regards

Stephen,
I am sure you will be aware, from the heated local debate, that there will be overnight closures on the A85 at Loch Awe village and east of Connel during September. In order to supply these works we request an extension to our consented working hours i.e. up to 1.00 am leaving the quarry on the dates as per the schedule below.
Sunday 4th September to Thursday 8th September inclusive.
Sunday 18th September to Thursday 22nd September inclusive.
Sunday 25th to Tuesday 27th September inclusive.
We will endeavour to cause as little disturbance to the local community as possible and the Quarry Liaison Committee will be kept informed of our proposals.
