USE OF ACCESS ROAD, BONAWE QUARRY, ARGYLL
 
1                    DO NOT PASS ARCDCHATTAN PRIMARY SCHOOL BEWTEEN 8.45AM – 9.05AM AND 15.25 – 15.45HRS.
 
2                    DO NOT STOP FOR BREAKFATS ETC ON THE BONAWE ROAD.
 
 
3                    SLOW DOWN-MAXIMUM SPEED LIMIT = 30MPH
DRIVERS SHOULD FURTHER REDUCE SPEED ACCORDING TO PREVAILING ROAD CONDITIONS
 
4                    ENNSTONE THISTLE VEHICLES AND HAULIERS WORKING FOR ET MUST DISPLAY IDENTITY NUMBERS (VIN), TO THE FRONT AND REAR OF THE VEHICLE.
 
5                    ALL VEHICLES LEAVING BONAWE QUARRY MUST BE SHEETED.
 
 
6                    LOW LOADERS MUST BE ESCORTED BY AN ESCORT VEHICLE WITH FLASHING LIGHTS AND “WIDE LOAD” NOTICE.
 
7                    BE COURTEOUS TO ALL OTHER ROAD USERS.
 
 
8                    STOP AND GIVE WAY TO MOTORISTS, CYCLISTS OR PEDESTRIANS AND PRAMS.
 
9                    NO LORRIES SHAL ENTER OR LEAVE THE SITE
 
 
·         MONDAY-FRIDAY ~ BEFORE 5.00HRS OR AFTER 19.00HRS.
·         SATURDAYS~ BEFORE 8.00HRS OR AFTER 14.00HRS.
·         SUNDAY-~ANY TIME
 
 
10                NO HAND HELD MOBILE PHONES TO BE USED AT ANY TIME.        
 
 
 
 
 
 
SUPPLEMENTARY REQUIREMENTS TO CODE OF PRACTICE PROPOSED FOR AGREEMENT, IN MITIGATION AGAINST ADVERSE AND/OR UNACCEPTABLE TRAFFIC IMPACT GENERATE BY THE DAY TO DAY USE, AND NON STANDARD EXCEPTIONAL USE ASSOCIATED TO THE OPERATION OF BANAWE QUARRY.
 
  • LARGE VEHICLES EXCLUDED DURING COMMUTER PERIOD BETWEEN 08.00HRS to 9.05HRS, and 15.45hrs to 16.45hrs .
(To avoid disruption to residents travelling to work, and to avoid school bus hold-ups.
 
  • THE USE OF A “ONE-WAY-SYSTEM” IS TO BE OPERATED WHEREEVER PRACTICABLE DURING PERIODS OF INTENSE TRAFFIC GENERATED BY THE NEED TO SERVE INDIVIDUAL WORK PROJECTS.
( The one-way system will operate via (B845) Glen Sallach road, which should be used for returning empty vehicles, in order to minimise impact and volume of traffic to the North Connel access road C when appropriate)
 
 
  • A COMMUNICATION PROCEDURE SHOULD BE FORMALLY ADOPTED TO FOREWARN THE COMMUNITY OF PROPOSED HEAVY VEHICLE USE OR NON STANDARD OPERATIONS, SUFFICIENTLY IN ADVANCE OF THE WORK TAKING PLACE.
( The reporting mechanism should by via Bonawe Quarry Liaison Group [BQLG] AND Quarry Traffic Monitoring Group [QTMG] and a suitable protocol agreed in writing prior to work commencing.
 
  • ALL FUTURE TENDERING PROCEDURES BY ET MUST INCLUDE FULL CONSULATION WITH COMMUNITY GROUPS, AT TENDER STAGE, IRRRESPECTIVE OF THE CONTRACT NOT BEING LET, TO ALLOW ADEQUATE TIME FOR PROPER CONSULTATION AND AGREEMENT OF ANY SPECIAL MEAUSRES REQUIERD OR NECESSARY RESTRICTIONS TO MINIMISE ANTICIPATED IMPACTS.
 
  • ANY PERMISSIONS SOUGHT FROM THE PLANNING AUTHORITY TO WORK OUTWITH THE APPROVED CONDITIONS GRANTED UNDER PLANNING CONSENT, MUST BE LODGED SUFFICIENTLY IN ADVANCE OF THE WORK TAKING PLACE TO ALLOW FULL CONSULTATION WITH THE PLANNING AUTHORITY, ENVORONMENTAL HEALTH, COMMUNITY REPRESENTITIVES, OR ANY OTHER AFFECTED PARTY.
(Period proposed 28 days)
 
 
 
  • AS A COMPETENT AND RESPONSIBLE OPERATOR, ENNSTONE THISTLE WILL BE REQUIRED TO CONSULT FULLY WITH THE COMMUNITY IN RESPECT OF ANY NON-STANDARD OPERATIONS, ALLOWABLE UNDER PLANNING APPROVAL, BUT SIGNIFICANT IN RELATION TO NORMALLY ANTICIPATED DAY TO DAY ROUTINE TRAFFIC.
