Plans for a mobile phone telephone to be located on land between New Inn primary School and Woodfield Rd have been refused by Torfaen CBC Planners. Opposition from local residents seems to have made an impact. Adrian Williams prospective Labour Candidate for New Innwho sent in a letter of objection said that the proposal would have been an eyesore and very intrusive for local people and was pleased with the outcome.
