Next Tuesday 5th February the full Council are meeting to determine an application by Shanks to build an MBT plant on the old Rechem site. the plant will be designed to treat 120,000t per anum of domestic waste.The conditions and agreements attached to the recomendation to approve include:

1. If Torfaen CBC decides not to use MBT  the plant it will not be built.

2. The facility could only be used by Torfaen and other local authorities in the South East Wales area. No waste from England or other areas of Wales would be permitted.
