LocaL Development Plan Requires more Houses for Torfaen

Preparations for the next local development plan for Torfaen has indicated that about 7,000 extra houses will be needed over next 10-15 years according to the Welsh Assemby Government. One potential site is the old Parke-Davis site owned by Johnsey Estates off the A4042 dual carriageway.This could accommodate a totally new settlement of several thousand houses stretching from the Horse and Jockey to Mahilad Park Estate Plans are also afoot to expand Cwnbran Town Centre to the east with more retail and office development.

Reclaimation of the 'British' site at Abersychan is to go ahead with new housing development and a new road infrastructure north of Pontypool.
