The 2007 GCSE results for Torfaen show a significant improvement .The percentage of pupils gaining 5 A*-C grades in Torfaen was overall 54.9%, an improvement of 2.3% on last yearwhich is above the Welsh Average for pupils achieving A*-C grades. There have been a number of Improvments in several of subject areas in the number of pupils gaining A*-C grades: maths (4.3%), English literature(7.5%), Geography(5.6%)and Biology (3.4%).
