The proposal by Shanks to build a food waste processing plant on the Old Rechem site in Pontyfelin lane is causing growing concern about the extent to which will it will rely on importing food waste from other local authorities.

Rumour has it that Shanks propose to import food waste from Cardiff and West Wales to make the operation pay its way. Originally their waste proposals involved processing household waste from Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent. What's going on??
