Network Rail have written to the Council informing it that they intend to erect a 29m lattice communications mast at the side of the railway line just to the rear of the Petrol Station at the Mc Donald's Roundabout.Network rail had proposed siting the mast at Pontypool Rd Station but have moved it to a site where it would make less visual impact. The works constitue 'permitted' development under the Town and Country Planning Act 1995 but Network rail welcome any comments from the Council.
