The Government have announced plans for a new prison in Wales to be built on the site of the old Police Training centre in Greenmeadow, Cwmbran.Initial reactions from the locval community are opposed to this development.The First Minister, Rhodri Morgan has indicated that he would like to see the proposed prison located in the 'Heads of the Valleys' area to created much needed jobs and stimulate the local economy of what is one of the most deprived areas of Wales.
