Torfaen CBC has received a planning application from Shanks(owners of the Rechem site) to build a domestic waste recycling plant on the site to treat waste from Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent and possibly a third South Wales Local Authjority with a capacity of 120,000 tonnes per year. Community consultation and exhibitions of the plans are to be held on 14th and 15th March at panteg House, Grifithstown(2pm-8pm) and on 26 and 27th March at panteg public hall, New Inn (2pm-8pm).
