The Cabinet of Torfaen County Borough Council has decided allocate extra £800,000 for Education to be passported directly into school budgets.Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr. John Turner said that "he was delighted with the decision in view of the fact that Torfaen had historucally been a low funder of education. Schools will welcome this extra cash and relects Torfaen's committemt to making the education of our young people a priority" Next years Budget settlement will probably see a Council Tax increase of about 5%.
