Welcome

Avoch and Killen settlements represent both the Fishing and Farming traditions here in the heart of the Black Isle between Munlochy and Fortrose and only 18 miles from the City of Inverness.

The immediate local area is a source of diverse and outstanding natural beauty as many visitors and residents will agree.

The role of our Community Council is to represent the issues and concerns of the people who live here but also to inform, support and promote where possible initiatives from business, groups, clubs and individuals which could have a benefit to our community.

We hope as this site develops that it will act as a focus for information, local stories, pictures and as a tool for you to have your say.

If you would like to send us anything which we could include in the site please send it via email, you will find this in the "Contact Us" tab on the left.

Report a Problem in Your Area

If you have a problem or an issue with benefits, community problems, planning, breach of planning control, rubbish and recycling, trading standards and transport and streets, you can report it on the Highland Council Website, or you can telephone the Highland Council Service Centre on 01349 886 606.

With both methods you will be given a CRM/Laggan number. With this number you have some control and a means of escalating the problem either directly to the Highland Council, the Community Council or the Black Isle Ward 9 Councillors, if not resolved.
