Redevelopment of Garth Works as Residential Development

The Community Council has been asked for its observations on a proposal to redevelop Garth Works for residential use.

At this stage the application is an ‘outline application’ but the proposal is to build over 135 properties on the site. The Type of accommodation is not specified.

The Community Council will consider the proposal at its next meeting but is concerned about the loss of industrial land and the potential loss of jobs within the area.

Given the scale of the development, the County Council has issued a CD of the proposals a copy of which can be borrowed from the HUB (community library) Cardiff Road.

The Community Council will keep residents updated on these proposals on its website.
