The New Nantgarw Community Library

Storytime and Rhymes in the new Library.

The new library has opened its doors to welcome everyone to use its facilities. We offer free access to 7 computers to connect to the internet, use E-mail and research Family History. Rhondda Cynon Taff libraries offer members the opportunity to use Find My Past for Free, online access to magazines and Theory Test Pro, and for those that cannot use computers we periodically offer free classes.

Members can also take out 10 books for free, for 3 weeks, Rent DVDs, borrow large print or audio titles as well as a large selection of non-fiction titles, we have collections of Fantasy/Science Fiction novels, Teenage fiction, children’s books and Graphic Novels, and Welsh titles. If we do not have the item in our branch we can order a copy from any library for free.

Since moving we now have many weekly classes and activities. Every Wednesday 2-4pm we have a knit and natter group, bring your knitting, sewing, crochet along and have a cuppa and a chat with other like minded people. If you’re interested in playing scrabble with other people give us a ring and we can arrange to have a group playing here. At present we have weekly Rhymes and Stories for pre-school children and babies, every Thursday at 10.30am.

To join you will need one form of ID with your name and address, such as Driving Licence or recent utility bill and its free for everyone to join.

You can collect your recycling bags, pick up information on cancer from the Macmillan charity. The local No. 18 Ty-Rhiw bus service stops directly outside the library, and for those with cars there are parking spaces available. So why not pop along and see what we have to offer! Members can also use the facilities in the college, from the café, shop, restaurant, hairdressers and gym.
