TREE CANOPY TO BE CUT BACK

TREE CANOPY TO BE CUT BACK

Following representations from both the Community Council and County Councillor Jill Bonetto the County Council has agreed to cut back the trees from Glan-y- Llyn to Ferris' garage Cardiff Road.

The Community Council had expressed concern that some of the trees were potentially dangerous with branches falling onto the Cardiff Road. In addition, the trees were obscuring the daylight making the area very dark even during the day.

The County Council will undertake a "thinning exercise" and remove any dangerous or diseased trees and deal with anything that may cause a problem on the embankments.

The scheme could see the partial closure of the road as a sky lift vehicle will be needed to undertake the work.
It is envisaged that work will commence in the next 2 weeks and could take up to 4 weeks to complete.

The Community Council would wish to thank County Councillor Bonetto for taking up this issue and to the officers of County Council for their swift action in dealing with this matter.
