Community Council provides new bicycle for local police
As part of its support for the area’s local community policing team the Community Council has purchased a new mountain bike. This bike can be used ‘off road’ to meet residents ever increasing concerns about scrambler bikes causing a nuisance in the area.
In addition, the community policing team will use the bike to promote a local cycle safety campaign with local youngsters. The team will check that the youngsters bikes are road worthy and that they are properly equipped with a safety helmet.
The provision of the new bike should also mean that the police will be able to cover the area more efficiently and respond quickly to complaints received from local residents
