CELEBRATING THE KING'S CORONATION

The Community Council have been busy this week preparing for the Coronation of King Charles.

COMMEMORATIVE STONE
A commemorative granite stone, kindly donated by Breedon Bonawe Quarry, has been set in Benderloch with decorative flower tubs. Our thanks to Ronnie Campbell and Patrick Shellcock for getting the stone into place. Community Councillor Diane MacLean was the lead on this project, assisted by Steven Groom, DJ Barr, John MacTavish, Caroline Campbell and volunteers Gordon Cowan and DJ Barr junior. There will be an official unveiling by former ward Councillor Elaine Robertson later in May.

ICE CREAM TREATS
Yesterday the children of Lochnell and Barcaldine primary schools were treated to a delicious Highland Fold ice cream. Our thanks to our secretary Michelle Mcewan who successfully applied for the lottery funding to make this possible and Jane Isaacson for delivering the ice cream. Lots of happy faces all round! The residents of Etive House will also receive an ice cream on Monday.

CORONATION TREE
The village of Benderloch now has a temporary Coronation tree and has been decorated with bunting for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. It looks magnificent. Huge thanks to Steven Groom for the vision and precision in getting the ribbons in sequence, which was not easy on such a windy evening! Thanks too to the other Community Councillors and young helpers who gave up their time to help decorate the village for the Coronation.
