CORONAVIRUS VACCINATION UPDATE

From Taynuilt Medical Practice (Incorporating Connel Surgery)

Over the next couple of weeks, the practice will begin the process of offering patients, who are over the age of 80 and who are able to attend their surgeries, an appointment for their first coronavirus vaccination. Vaccinations to housebound patients will be delivered by our community and practice nursing teams.

We have strict criteria to follow about who we offer the vaccine, and at the moment we will only able to offer the vaccine to those over the age of 80, in line with national guidance.

We ask that you please be patient with us as we get this vital immunisation programme going. We will contact eligible patients; this will take a little time and we generally start with the oldest over 80's who are able to attend.

We appreciate the support and eagerness of patients to be immunised but we ask that you DO NOT phone the surgery - we will contact you. At the same time, we need to continue the day to day work of providing essential and urgent primary care services.

This is a very positive development which allows us a way out of the trials of the past year.
