Work begins on the A9 Overbridge
Widening the B9006 overbridge at the A9
Notices have appeared that The Highland Council work begins from 21st May 2018 to widen the 'flyover' over the A9.
This is the result of a long campaign by the Community Council which had the vision to see that there is enough room for two lanes of traffic going into town towards the Inshes roundabout.
This will relieve a bottleneck pinchpoint well known to locals and it will help to relieve the dangerous queuing on the A9.
The work is scheduled to last 22 weeks and disruption to traffic is expected. The initial disruption has been minimised by beginning during the UHI and school holidays.
