Minutes of the meeting held in Clatt Village Hall on 21th February 2011

Present - Mrs E Shearer, Mr P Manning (Chairman) Mr T Murray (Secretary) , Mr J Matthews (Vice Chairman), Mr A Rennie, Mr J Grant, Mr D Grant, Mrs K Hunter, Mr D Connon, Mr S Petrie, Mr N Muiry.

3 - Matters Arising
 
Mr Cunningham attended the meeting and raised concern about the complaint about his yard, He said the council have been out and are satisfied everything is ok. Mr Cunningham has a letter to confirm this.
 
Sgt Binning reported about a house in tough being broken into, locals to be aware of people coming to the door asking for water for their cars etc, just to be aware they might move outside the area and if any suspicions about anything contact the police. Also over the next while focusing on people on mobiles and not wearing seatbelts and also going to arrange an early patrol in Rhynie to catch the speeding vehicle in the morning.
 
Gartly - council need to know the owners of the land at cults to get the trees trimmed back, Sgt Binning said he would find out and get back to us.
The ditches on the back road from the village at the first bench up to the forestry road need to be cleared out. And the broom at the sheep pens on the tillathrowie road still need to be cut back despite reported previously (still no answer).
 
Rhynie - Janitorial arrangements for a second key holder - Application to be made to the marr office in Alford for a second keyholder.
There old council shed (no answer from council but Mr Cunningham was present at meeting)
The Smithston road in a bad state of repair, (no answer)
Bus service - PTU are to contact the school to see if there are any issues and they are to survey the service to the school and stagecoach are to look into using the shop as a point of contact if any problems with the bus.
 
 
Kennethmont - The paper recycling bins - advised it has now been resolved.
The salt bin at ward house and the salt bin at Quarry croft - (no answer)

Clatt – the lay-bys on the suie that have the benches were replaced but the fences are down and if not going to be fixed can they be removed as they are a danger to the people using the lay-bys
 
Gartly –the road works at culdrain, it was reported to us a digger sat for 3 days and did nothing, why are the council using private contractors to do jobs and having them sitting doing nothing,

Rhynie – when will main street between the old filling station and the shop be repaired as the surface is in a bad state of repair.

Kennethmont – the cemetery wall wall is badly needing repaired because big lumps of cement are coming off, this issue has been ongoing for several years now.
The bridge between Wraes and slack on the Weets road is to narrow for lorries to go over, could there not be signs put up on the hill road and the B9002 to say unsuitable for heavy good vehicles to stop these lorries going down the road and getting stuck then have to reverse to get out.

Cairnmore windfarm extension application- this was discussed and the majority of members present felt it should be supported on the basis the community would benefit from a community fund or the community turbine as mentioned.
