Bin collections update from Midlothian Council
Due to improving conditions and progress made in clearing snow, we are now in a position to return to pick up domestic bins, including those missed during the severe weather.
We will be back to collect some missed bins
For those collections missed during the severe weather from Wednesday 28 February up to and including Tuesday 6 March, we will return to pick bins up. See below for more details.
This may be challenging in rural areas
We will try and clear all bins although prevailing conditions may make it more difficult in rural areas. Many thanks for your patience.
Please clear your bin of snow and pull it out
Note: Please make sure your bin is accessible by pulling it onto the kerbside and clearing it of snow.
Grey bins
Collections that were due on Wednesday 28 February will be collected on Wednesday 7 March
Collections that were due on Thursday 1 March will be collected on Thursday 8 March
Collections that were due on Friday 2 March will be collected on Friday 9 March
Collections that were due on Monday 5 March will now be collected on Monday 12 March
Collections that were due on Tuesday 6 March will now be collected on Tuesday 13 March
For all other collections from Wednesday 7 March please present your bin as normal and leave out until it is collected
Blue bins
Collections that were due on Wednesday 28 February will now be collected on Wednesday 7 March
Collections that were due on Thursday 1 March will be collected on Thursday 8 March
Collections that were due on Friday 2 March will be collected on Friday 9 March
Collections that were due on Monday 5 March will now be collected on Monday 12 March
Collections that were due on Tuesday 6 March will now be collected on Tuesday 13 March
For all other collections from Wednesday 7 March please present your bin as normal and leave out until it is collected
Food waste
Food waste collections will resume from Wednesday 7 March. Please present your bin on the normal collection day.
Bulky uplifts and glass collections
Collections of glass and bulky materials are suspended. We will update residents when they restart.
