All schools and nurseries will be CLOSED today, Wednesday, due to weather conditions.
Lifelong Learning and Employability groups, classes and activities cancelled today due to weather conditions.
Gritters out and extra teams clearing footpaths. Gritters have been out during the night and will remain so. We’ve also got extra teams helping clear snow from main footpaths such as bus routes and medical centres.
Forecast is for heavy snow
Gritters will remain out as the forecast is for frequent snow showers, which will be particularly heavy from Wednesday afternoon and throughout the evening and night but becoming lighter on Thursday morning.
15cms of snow in places. The strength of the wind will lead to drifting snow in places. Accumulations of snow could reach 15cms in places. Please take care on the roads.
Leisure centres
Lasswade and Loanhead centres are both open as is Newbattle pool. We will update this page when we have confirmation about the other centres.
Service disruptions
Two lunch clubs at Gorebridge and Newtongrange leisure centres are not on today.
