Serenata Women’s Choir
We are looking for women who love singing and are willing to work with others to help this new choir grow and develop.
Rehearsals: Thursdays 7.30 – 9.30 pm starting 1 September 2016
Venue: The Kirkbank Centre, Newbattle Church, Newbattle Road, Dalkeith EH22 3LQ
The choir will sing mainly in three parts - soprano, mezzo-soprano and alto, both accompanied and unaccompanied. Repertoire will be chosen from a range of musical genres and will include music from the classical choral tradition, spirituals, arrangements of folk songs and popular favourites. We will also explore the work of women composers. Once the choir is established we will work towards performances at Christmas and in the spring. There will be a simple audition after you have been to a few rehearsals.
