Grants for Community Groups
A total of 173 community groups and charities will share grants totalling more than £2.5 million over the next three years. At a full council meeting on Tuesday 16 December, nine councillors approved recommendations that will see funding reduced from around £1.5 million a year to £1 million by 2017/18. Provost Joe Wallace used his casting vote to approve the report. A total of 21 applicants will receive the full amount applied for, 153 will get partial funding and 43 applicants will get no funding.
