 *In brief, Planning Permission in Principle (PPP) establishes the acceptability of a particular type of development on a site without requiring a significant level of detail about the proposed development. Midlothian Council granted Consent with Conditions on 23.2.15.  The next steps will be (a) to secure funding to build the Community Hub; (b) Further community consultation; and (c) submission of a Detailed Planning Permission application to Midlothian Council.

This second Planning Permission in Principle application is from The Crown Estate on land that they have retained on the Rosewell Mains Steading site.  It is the footprint of the vehicle storage yard and workshop to the rear of the site (0.28 hectares).  This application is still awaiting determination by the Planning Officer.
