Rosewell Neighbourhood Plan - Proposed Steering Group

As discussed at previous RDCC meetings, Midlothian Council is currently working on a Neighbourhood Plan specifically for Rosewell.  The Plan seeks to find out what local residents, young and old, like and dislike about the village and what they want to see improved and introduced.  The results of the Rosewell Development Trust Community Consultation held in 2013 will form a good starting point for discussion.

As part of this Neighbourhood Plan, they are inviting members of the community, especially those involved in local community groups, to be part of a Rosewell Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group that will meet occasionally to develop and discuss the future Neighbourhood Plan for Rosewell.  The first meeting will be on Wednesday 11 June 2014 at 7pm in Rosewell Community Resource Centre.  Click on this link to view the Draft Role and Remit of the Steering Group - documents/rnpdraft-steeringgroup.pdf  It is hoped that the Steering Group will include a variety of ages; a person to represent the youth of the community would be a great start.

Fiona Inglis of Rosewell Development Trust is co-ordinating enquiries from the community so if you would like to be involved please contact her at the Rosewell Community Resource Centre Tel 0131 629 9398 or email Fiona@rdtrosewell.org.uk.

RDCC and RDT look forward to working in close partnership with the Neighbourhood Plan team to achieve the aims of our community.

[NOTE TO RESIDENTS:  Clare Taylor-Brown, Midlothian Council Community Learning & Development Officer will give an update on the Neighbourhood Plan progress to date, followed by a presentation by Rosewell Community Youth Leaders on the results of their surveys with the young people of Rosewell at the next RDCC meeting on 9 June.]
