Midlothian is entering tier 2 on Tuesday 24th November.

Midlothian people have worked hard and sacrificed a great deal to bring down the rate of Covid-19 infections in the county. The hope is that Midlothian can continue to lower the infection rate and so get some respite at Christmas.  But this is a very fragile thing and we must continue to follow the guidelines and observe FACTS in order to stop the spread of the virus and save lives.

We encourage everyone to continue to follow the guidelines and stick to the rules that have been put in place so that Midlothian can keep its rate of infections decreasing.

Schools in Midlothian put in place measures to protect staff and pupils, and the absence rate due to Covid-19 is very low. This great work needs to be protected.

On 20 November travel restrictions were put into law which bans unnecessary travel into a tier 3 area. If you have to travel for essential purposes, you should follow the ‘guidance on travelling safely’ on Scottish Government website.

For info - Cameron Toll and Fort Kinnaird shopping centres are in the tier 3 area. (Edinburgh).
