A good meaty meeting tonight at Mulbuie Hall with plenty of resident support and involvement. My personal highlights were:
Our Main Discussion was The Uncertain Future of FCC. In the same meeting as we welcomed in Margaret Kinsman as a co-opted community councillor increasing FCC's strength even further, paradoxically we discussed the possible demise of FCC with no Chair on the horizon for the May AGM. All 7 community councillors re-stated their enthusiasm to remain in post until November 2019, and continue to carry out all their present responsibilities. So the meeting tonight agreed to significantly raise the awareness of the Empty Chair during the early months of next year in order to more fully involve the community in our search to fill the gap in our resources.
I was annoyed to discover today that Stagecoach has launched a consultation on changes to bus services with a deadline to respond of this Friday. It was only thanks to an eagle-eyed resident that we found out. So please do look at this link and comment on the changes as FCC will be doing this week. The link is here.
The Black Isle Community Councils have proposed a joint lobbying exercise for a Black Isle Care Home that would take Black Isle residents as a priority through a social enterprise model. FCC readily agreed to support this co-operative lobbying exercise.
All comments welcome as ever.
