What is BDCT doing?

Walking maps

The promotion and improvement of local walks figured strongly in the list of community aspirations. BDCT applied for and obtained a grant from Fife Council to prepare walking maps of the local area. These will be made available to all households within the area and are currently in preparation.

Community Green Space for Boarhills

A lack of community green space, for children to play, and adults to sit together and enjoy the outdoors was identified in the community consultations. A community garden or orchard was also seen as desirable. BDCT has looked at a number of possible locations, and have identified the area North of No 3 Boarhills Farm Cottages as the best location because it is close to the village, is easily accessible, and is level ground.

This area also contains the B listed doocot. Concern for the poor condition of this building had been identified in the 2015 consultation. This site is also immediately adjacent to the Fife Coastal Path, where it passes closest to Boarhills village.

More details in the plans for this site can be found at BDCT plans for Boarhills Green Space.

BDCT has registered an interest in this area under the Community Right to Buy legislation.
