Additional gas pipe along Culloden Road - expect delays

Work begins on 21st September 2015 on the B9006 to lay a bigger 125mm gas pipeline along a section of Culloden Road in Westhill to service the growing number of houses expected to be built further east.

Disruption of traffic will last about four weeks as 100 yards is completed in each week.  Temporary traffic lights will be in operation during this time, manually controlled during the working day and sensor-controlled during the non-working day.

The work begins at Leanach Gardens junction with Culloden Road, and progresses out of town towards Culloden battlefield.  The new gas pipe under the tarmac will be additional to the current 65mm gas pipeline beneath the pavement.

This follows recent work to upgrade the electrical transformer at Raigmore Tower which will reduce the number of power cuts experienced by those to the east of Leanach Gardens.
