An interim election to fill up the vacancies in WCC to make it quorate has been arranged by The Highland Council for Thursday, 26th June 2014.
The details can be seen here
It will be a postal ballot and the process for nomination amounts to completing and submitting one two-page form with basic details. A sample form is available under the Library menu on the left, and the actual nomination form is available here.
The election became necessary when WCC became non-quorate following the resignation of its former secretary.
There are currently five community councillors. WCC is permitted to have twelve community councillors, so that there is scope for a further seven councillors.
This election will last until the next full election in Nov 2015. The election process does not require canvassing, but simply completing one two-page nomination form. The form allows you to include a candidate's statement less than 200 words.
