Message from Lothian & Borders Police

OFFICIAL

Good Afternoon, I trust this email finds you well?

I wanted to take a little time out of what has been an extremely challenging and busy few days to acknowledge personally with you my utmost thanks and appreciation for all the support provided by you and members of your community in response to the disappearance of an 11 year old girl from Galashiels on Sunday 5th February, who was thankfully found the following evening.

The response within the local community has visibly demonstrated (across Scotland and UK) the level of care and commitment that drives the actions of many people in this area. As Divisional Commander, I have been encouraged by the willingness of the community to step forward and support me and my staff, the other emergency services, our partners and other volunteer groups in whatever way possible, including supporting the initial searches and by sending messages of encouragement and support. This collective effort will be a lasting positive memory from within the midst of a challenging situation.

I am keen to ensure that we maintain positivity, community cohesion and support to each other and therefore I, along with my team, remain available if there is anything that we can help with over the coming days and weeks, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Thank you again, for all you do to support policing in this area in your many and varied roles, please know I do not take that support for granted but when I see it so visibly in action it compels me to reflect my gratitude and appreciation to you. Thank you!

Take care

Catriona
