TORTHORWALD COMMUNITY COUNCIL CASUALLY FILLS IT’S VACANCIES!

Following the Ordinary Elections in October, Members of Torthorwald Community Council were keen to bolster their numbers by recruiting fully elected Community Councillors using the Casual Vacancy Election process as set out in the Scheme.

Chair of Torthorwald Community Council, Mr Bob Watson said: “We were distinctly aware that our Community Council was just a few Members above our minimum numbers and so we took the decision to ask about the Casual Vacancy process.

This was extremely straight-forward and we were delighted to welcome 6 new fully elected Community Councillors at our meeting on Monday 20 January.” If you would like more information on the Casual Vacancy Election process, please contact Community.Councils@dumgal.gov.uk
