The next meeting of the Community Council will take place on Tuesday, 12th February 2019 at 7:00 pm in the Invercarron Resource Centre, Low Wood Road. Any member of the public is welcome to attend.
There are currently several vacancies for community councillors. Please contact us if you are interested or, alternatively, come along to the next meeting.
The Community Council facilitated a meeting on Thursday, 13th December to discuss the new e-Consult scheme recently introduced by Stonehaven Medical Centre. A summary of the conclusions will be published soon.
At the last Community Council meeting on Tuesday, 11th December Rachel Kennedy, Aberdeenshire Council engineer responsible for the proposed flood protection scheme along the River Carron explained that the contract had now been awarded to McLaughlin and Harvey, that work would start on 7th January 2019 and is expected to last around 2 years.
Aberdeenshire Council appointed Dougall Baillie Associates / JBA Consulting to carry out a Coastal Flood Study for Stonehaven. The council will be holding the first of two public consultation events on Tuesday 29th January 2019 at Mackie Academy (7.00pm – 9.00pm). The project team are now starting to consider what flood protection options may be appropriate for the frontage. At the public event, the range of options will be presented by JBA and there will then be the opportunity for stakeholders and members of the public to provide feedback which wil be included in the assessment process.
