Paritck Library hopes to be up and running again once they get their dust covered books cleaned, the roof has now been fixed so the library shoeld be fully open in the next two weeks.

After hearing weeks of inforrmation and reports the Scottisjh office reporter gave his verdict that the stand alone site should not get planning permission but to the oppositions surprise has given the go ahead  for the large site for supermarket  and  student flats and  flats for sale . There  are conditions attached that means that they would have to get apptoval from neighbouring properties. Glasgow Harbour has bouhjt a large portion of land from GCC which Tesco requires for its housing aqnd access  which means a deal or sale has to be struck, local campaigners are trying to find ways to stop this development which will increase traffic flow and close down local businesses who can't compete.  Tesco has already obtained a shop at Dumbarton Road which will be a Tesco Express

The community council has asked GCC to replace the studded tiles for the visually impaired with more durable concrete slabs but the GCC ay they are too expensive and insist in reinstalling the plastic tiles once the weather is dry enough for them to glue them downTHe pavements are getting more polluted by "A" boards blocking the pavements.GCC have a bllaw which allowa them to take them away and fine the owners. They have been requested to do this as they are already doing it in the city centre.

Partick  Library's main room roof collapsed causing chaos, they have now closed the room and are working from the foyer and the reading room and children's library are stil being used.  The repairs seem to be taking a longt ime and the regular users are heading to Hillhead for books until the work is completed.
